Q:I am going to Colorado for 10,000 to 11,000 ft elk camp. I’m curious if my stove can and will burn hardwood pellets effectively wood pellets effectively at this altitude or if I need soft wood pellets.
A:This stove operates normally at altitudes below 10,000 feet; at altitudes above 10,000 feet, the flue pipe must be extended. To maintain adequate combustion efficiency, it is recommended that the flue pipe be extended and that cork pellets be used.
