Thank you so much for your amazing feedback! We’re thrilled to hear the Hori 5 Max is exceeding your expectations—heating your tent, baking cookies, and even reheating pizza. It’s great to know it’s become such a versatile part of your camping setup.
We truly appreciate your recommendation and your kind words about the build quality. Enjoy all your future adventures.
Thanks for reaching out. If you’re concerned about heat damaging your tent material, here are our general recommendations:
Install a heat-resistant stove jack / flashing at the chimney exit point on the roof. This helps protect the tent fabric where the pipe passes through.
Keep the stove at least 40 cm (about 16 inches) away from the tent walls.
If you cannot maintain that distance, use a heat shield / fireproof barrier between the stove and the tent wall.
For the floor, place the stove on a non-combustible mat, metal plate, or fireproof pad.
You can find suitable heat shields, stove jacks, and fireproof mats on Amazon by searching terms like “tent stove heat shield,” “stove jack flashing,” or “fireproof mat for wood stove.”
Also, please always use a carbon monoxide alarm inside the tent when the stove is running.
If you can’t find softwood pellets locally, we recommend switching to our soft/hardwood universal pellet cage, which allows you to use hardwood pellets safely. You can find it on our website or Amazon by searching “soft/hardwood pellet cage.”
For storage: yes, you can store pellets over summer in a dry bin. Keep them in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and moisture, and make sure the container is sealed well.
